Complex Silence 4 [tmth06A] is now available from the Time Theory netlabel at Archive.org

For Complex Silence 4, mysterybear (Dave Seidel) provides a decidedly abstract, yet sublime exploration of the Golden Ratio with two long-form tracks. Both pieces were written using blue and Csound.

To celebrate this milestone, Darrell put together a massive compilation of Earth Mantra artists.

There are far too many artists to name, so just click right on over and check them all out for yourself. For the most part, these are new tracks, not just selected re-releases!

Sylvie Walder and I contributed a new track as well. Here is a little promo I put together at Youtube.

Complex Silence 2

http://www.archive.org/details/tmth05A

With Complex Silence 2, Time Theory and Tange continue the Series with a truly beautiful set of long-form tracks that explore farther into the realms of enigmatic and abstract ambience. This contribution by Tange is a perfectly suited voyage into harmonic and dissonant mystery with a sublime mix of Tibetan bowls (Part 1) and Buddha Machine samples (Part 2). And, of course, both tracks feature the Tange trademark drones and washes that transport the listener into deeply satisfying layers of pure atmospheric ambience and listening enjoyment.

The Complex Silence Series welcomes collaboration and contributions from fellow ambient artists who wish to contribute their interpretation of similar musical themes and ideas.

Music composed and recorded by Gordon Macmillan

Produced by Phillip Wilkerson

Released by Time Theory Netlabel

Coming Soon: Complex Silence 2

New Release: Complex Silence [tmth052]
[info]thirdsun
The TimeTheory netlabel has released Complex Silence, the first in an ongoing series from Phillip Wilkerson.

http://www.archive.org/details/tmth052

The release consists of two longform tracks:

1. As Far As Infinity Goes (26:20)
2. The Moment Without A Beyond (25:20)

Rather than "beautiful" ambient, these tracks are enigmatic and abstract, with extremely subtle shades of movement.

There are more plans in the works in conjunction with this project, including a CD release and collaboration with various artists. Details are forthcoming.

New Release: Constant 23 [treetrunk078]
[info]thirdsun

Phillip Wilkerson and Treetrunk Records have released "Constant 23" available for immediate download:

http://www.archive.org/details/Constant_23

Constant 23

For "Constant 23", Phillip Wilkerson offers a quasi-organic sitar-sounding drone that seems to twist and grow (complete with pops and crackles), in a kind of psychedelic time-lapse haze. This long-form drone is further enhanced by nurturing, transcendent harmonies floating in a luscious and spacious ambience.

Treetrunk Records really enjoys this version of Constant, and hopes you will, too.

"Constant" pieces are works of minimal drone that tend to use a "less is more" approach. The idea of these songs is to create the least possible ambient drone material necessary for listening.

Mystified created the first "Constant" on Webbed Hand Records (http://www.webbedhandrecords.com ). Since that time, several artists have given the theme their own spin and Treetrunk Records has a growing collection of releases on the "Constant" theme.

As coincidence would have it, JNN released Phillip Wilkerson's Penumbra just in time for the February 9, 2009 full moon. A full moon which, as the universe would have it, coincided with a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse visible in eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, the Pacific, and western North America.
